Daniel Moraes Biography

Daniel “Moraes” Correira was born on the 18th of August 1981 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He first started training when he was 5 years old at the “Iate Clube Jardim Guanabara”.

He trained under Master Royler Gracie and Marcelo Clemente throughout his Jiu Jitsu career in Brazil, being awarded his black belt by the pair in 2002, after having won 2 Mundial (World Championships) Gold Medals in the lower belts (Blue 1999, Purple 2000) and many other important Tournaments.
When Daniel Moraes moved to the United States to teach Jiu Jitsu, he sought out Relson Gracie and has been affiliated with him ever since.

Daniel also fights in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) rules. He had a run in between 2006 and 2008, were picked up a submission win over UFC veteran Matt Brown, and is today pondering a return to the cage.
