Kyra Gracie is Back in 2010

Kyra Gracie will be back in force this Year. The 2008 Female BJJ World Champion had a rough 2009 losing both finals of the “Mundial” (weight and Absolute) and missing out on ADCC due to an injury. For 2010 Kyra is prepared to leave it all behind and bounce back twice as strong, as stated in her latest interview to the Brazilian Press.

The Gracie says that she plans on focussing her training for the World Championships, and has decided to go to London for the final stages of the preparation, training at Roger Gracie Academy in the western part of the city. This plan of focussing on one major competition per year has been used with great success by her cousin Roger and she plans on following the champ’s footsteps.

In the interview she also states that the number one female BJJ fighter in the world at this point is Hannette Staak, the BJJ Middleweight, and as for her MMA career, Kyra is definitely interested and has already picked up boxing classes to start her preparation for any eventual proposal.

In the early stages of her preparation for the 2010 World Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championships, Kyra Gracie is focussing her Ground training by training with the world famous Roberto “Gordo” while doing the Judo tune up with Leonardo Leite.
