Jose Steve

José Steve Nduazulu Ndilu is a Belgian grappler and a jiu-jitsu black belt under Khalid Houry, who built his career in the sport as a colored belt, when he conquered many of the main tournaments on the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) circuit, such as the World and European Championships, during which he represented teams CENS and Dream Art.

José Steve Biography

José Steve was born in January 2002 in Belgium, where he spent his formative years.

From an early age, Steve was drawn to sports. Still, despite his desire to be a successful athlete, he failed to achieve his competitive goals in any of the activities he practiced, which included football (soccer), basketball, and swimming.

In 2013, Steve found jiu-jitsu, somewhat by chance. His sister had signed her child up for a local gym (CENS Academy) to train in martial arts. One day, Jose went to pick him up from CENS and saw the class, which sparked his curiosity enough to give it a try. Although he didn’t truly like it at the start, he had tried a few different activities without success and was running out of sports to compete in, so he opted to stick to it and see it through.

Khalid Houry, the leader of CENS, became Jose’s instructor from the start and the person behind his development as an athlete. Houry promoted Steve through all jiu-jitsu ranks, including his black belt, which he received in July 2025.

As a brown belt, Jose was invited to represent the Dream Art team in international events, an offer accepted by Steve.
