Leticia Santos Biography
Leticia Santos was born in April 2000 in Vila São Pedro, Bonsucesso, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she grew up.
As a child, Leticia had a growth-related issue with one of her legs and was advised to practice swimming to help develop muscle mass without stressing the bones. She signed up at the age of 3 and even competed in the sport, despite her therapeutic purpose.
As a teenager, Leticia gained undesired weight and decided to join a jiu-jitsu class at the age of 18 to help shed the extra pounds. Coaches Bruno Guedes and Marcio Ribeiro became her instructors at the local gym, affiliated with GF Team.
Leticia Santos became more invested in the competitive side of the sport as she progressed through the belt system. As a purple belt, she became a student of Thiago Cidro, also a GFT-associated instructor, who promoted Leticia to her brown belt.
As a brown belt, Leticia Santos tried a few different teams, first moving to Fratres in São Paulo in 2024 and later relocating to the United States (2025), where she joined the Atos Team Headquarters in San Diego, California. André Galvão and Angélica Galvão guided her training at Atos HQ and promoted Leticia to her black belt rank in June 2025.
