Bernardo Faria is a World Jiu Jitsu champion from the Alliance Jiu Jitsu academywho holds an extensive competitive resume with titles at the world’ top tournaments such as the European Open, Pan American and Brazilian Champion. Bernardo Faria is a black belt under Ricardo Marques who moved to the Alliance team in 2009.

Claudio Calasans is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo black belt, who fights for the Atos Team. He was won 2 World Championships in the Black Belt Division, but what brought him fame in the BJJ Community was his win at the World Pro Cup in Abu Dhabi in 2010.

Rodolfo Vieira

Named as the “Jiu Jitsu Fighter of the Year” in 2011 by the majority of the specialized media, Rodolfo Vieira is considered by most as the number 1 grappler in the world. A World Champion (weight and absolute) and a Pan American Champion (also in his weight class as well as the absolute division), Rodolfo Vieira fights out of the GFTeam camp and he is a black belt under Master Julio Cesar Pereira. Rafael Mendes

This Brazilian competitor from the town of Londrina, is famed for his agressive game inside the matted arena, but he is also an acomplished instructor as he has shown teaching at Team Alliance’s HQ in Atlanta.

André Galvão

Andre Galvao is one of the most accomplished jiu jitsu competitors in the history of the sport, having won important tournaments such as the ADCC, the world championship, the Pan American championship, world cup, world pro championship among many other tournaments. Galvao also had a short spell competing in MMA.

Fernando Pontes “Margarida”

Fernando Pontes, mostly known as Margarida by the Jiu Jitsu community, is a former World BJJ Champion in both his weight category and the open weight division. His entertaining and aggressive style made him one of the most venerated grapplers in the early 2000s as well as his irreverence in and out of the mats.

Alexandre Ribeiro

Alexandre “Xande” Ribeiro is a 6x world Jiu Jitsu champion from the Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu camp. Having been taught by some of the best coaches such as Royler Gracie and Vini Aieta as well as Xande’s own brother, the legendary Saulo Ribeiro. Xande Ribeiro (who is ranked #1 on BJJ Heroes’ Top 10 BJJ Fighters of All Time) also joined MMA in 2008 premiering in Japan’s organization Sengoku.

Marcelo Garcia also known as “Marcelinho“, is one of the most loved fighters in the BJJ community. With an entourage of fans throughout the grappling circuit earned by his Jiu Jitsu prowess and his amicable demeanor. Marcelo Garcia is considered by many as one of the All Time Best BJJ Fighters to have ever entered a mat, including by Rubber Guard guru Eddie Bravo, who considered Marcelo to be the BJJ “messiah“, after watching him in action.
