I would like to see articles on the legends of Jiu-Jitsu, Oswaldo Alves, Sergio Penha, among others
I would like to see the biography of Rodrigo “Comprido” Medeiros.
No Problem guys, I am working on those. I will have them up here soon.
how about the Machado Brothers.. More of the Gracies…
Vinny “pesao” Magalhaes. I cant find much on him anywhere??
When will there be a page for Roleta?
I’d love to see a series of posts dedicated to stories about some of the more colorful bjj characters such as Carlson Grace, Ryan Grace, Wallid Ismail, etc.
Also, would love to see a section detailing some of the info/drama behind a lot of splits such as Carlson Gracie/BTT, Alliance and all of the groups formed from them, etc.
Mabe Murilo Bustamante and comprido
Hi Cody, you have a Carlson Gracie and Wallis Ismail post here (in fact Wallid was just put on a couple of weeks ago), Ryan might have been a good subject but I am struggling with the idea. There is alot of bad stuff to be said and I don’t want to upset those close to him.
Matt, those are definitely two guys that I want to write about. They are on my “to do” list
I would like to see more old school guys, some mma, and some of the Americans.
Count Koma, Indio (old school), Relson, Rillion, Mansor (great story) The Noguiera bros, Werdum, Yuki Nakai, Dean Lister, Gordo, Matt Serra, Bill Cooper, Pedro Brandao(rip). From Judo: Flavio Canto, Kimura, and Neil Adams would be good reads as they were/are great newaza players.
It would be cool if your website listing all the 7th degree black belts and higher. A guy named J-Sho, a BJJ trivia buff, has started compiling a list on a few of the BJJ forums. OnTheMat used to have a black belt wiki, but that’s been taken down.
Like to see a bio of what I consider to be the greatest jiu-jitsu artist, Rolls Gracie.
Memorex, the Rolls Gracie page is already in place, check here: http://www.bjjheroes.com/bjj-fighters/rolls-gracie-profile
A Pedro Sauer article would be quite nice as well!
Eduardo Telles please. Awesome site btw
Thanks guys, I will ad these also to the “to do list”, for sure!
I will give priority to the names here requested.
you should add a 7th degree black belt from carlson gracie by the name of “carlos rollyson” he is an unsung heroe in my opinion without any real recognition from the community his stories about the old carlson gracie academy are truly inspiring, could you please look into him. i believe he worthy of a spot here.. thank you
will there be a page for Roberto Magalhaes “Roleta?
Hi Noel, Preparing one for either the weekend or beggening of the next week.
Garcia, I have heard of Carlos Rollyson. There are still litteraly hundreds of people to put on the database. If I could I would work on this full time unfortunately, for me, not enough time. But I will ad him at one point.
Thanks
How about Leonardo Pecanha from nova uniao
how bout crosley gracie, he’s doing great things in norcal
I would be interested in learning more about Sylvio Behring.
You should try to include something about some old school masters such as Carlos Alberto Barreto, Pedro Hemetério, Hélio Vigio, among others. Another sugestion: maybe (I am not sure if it is possible) you could create a piramide of fighters, starting from Conde Koma (considering who granted the blackbelt to who). Well, the site is great. I had a lot of fun here. Congrats…
Thanks Leonardo, Hemetério and the Barreto brothers are definitely in the cards. And thanks for the idea I already have an indivisual lineage line on every fighter profile, but I like the idea of the piramide.
Your missing Pablo popovitch
I am missing alot motr then Pablo my friend
he is also on on the (endless) short list.
Thanks
Andre
what about Marcelo Azevedo??
Hello,
Congratulations for you website, a gold mine for every BJJ fan…
May I suggest you two fighters who are not very known internationnaly but who made a lot of success in Brazil:
- Fernando “Boi” Marques (Nova Uniao), who grew up in Goiania, where there was literally no BJJ, and who become world champion in 2001 (super-pesado) and vice-champion in 2005 after a debatable (from my point of view) decision again Robert Drysdale… His style was very special for a heavy guy (some videos are avaiable on youtube…) He also has a website: http://www.fernandoboi.com
- Bernardo Pitel (Nova Uniao): this little guy, from Brasilia, was also world champion in 2001 (galo), and, at 34, is still very competitive in the adult category… I think he is one of the most decorated BJJ fighters in the lower weight category…
Take care…
Hey bjjheroes.com, I would like to see Leandro Nyzas profile and bio on this website. He is from a strong alliance from NOVA UNIAO. He received his blackbelt from the co-founder of NOVA UNIAO, Wendell Alexander. He is and accomplished competitor as well winning multiple tournaments in brazil and in the united states. He now resides in hawaii. He used to teach at Bj penns school on the big island but now has his own academy in Oahu. It would be aweso
E if his bio can be up there, thanks
How bout some more Gracie humaita guys like Rolker Gracie, Renato Barreto, Megaton, etc…
You guys need to include Marcus Vinicius de Macedo Soares, he is a Carlson Gracie 7th Degree Black Belt, one of the most experienced Carlson Gracie Team professor.
Hey mate, very cool site..any chance of seeing Rigan Machado and his other brothers alongside your JJ Machado article?
You should add Ailson “Jucão” Brites, BJJ champ and 5th degree black belt under Carlos Gracie Jr.
wikipedia/wiki/Jucao
a person i think should be on the list is carlos “sapao” bun. i believe he is often overlooked. he is a fantastic teacher as well as a competitor.
ive read about roberto godoi and macao patino and teacher waldomiro perez jr. im kinda interested to read about his history.
